What is the International Coach Federation (ICF)?
In simple terms, the ICF is the recognized authority and voice of professional coaching around the world. The ICF is an organization that provides a range of services to the coaching industry and to their members.
Is it compulsory for all coaches to join ICF?
No, it's not; but the benefits and advantages to coaches who do become ICF members are too many to list here. Don't just take our word for it; have a browse on the ICF website (www.coachfederation.com) or speak to a current ICF member and find out for yourself.
Are all the BCI Coaches current members of ICF?
All BCI coaches are independent business owners and most (if not all) of them are current members of ICF. Whilst we certainly encourage ICF membership, the final decision is up to each individual coach.
Having said that; for those BCI Coaches who wish to participate in our BCI Coach Development Plan, one of the criteria is to be a member of ICF.
